The Springer Cultural Center in Champaign, Illinois is seeking solo or group exhibition proposals for the upcoming exhibition calendar year. The center is the main location for cultural arts programs within the Champaign Park District (CPD) and houses cultural, recreational, and educational programs for all ages as well as workshops, lectures, exhibits, and performances. Our exhibitions offer local and regional artists a professional venue to display their work in the historical building located at 301 Randolph Street in Champaign, IL. Springer hosts approximately eight exhibitions per year. Exhibitions are determined by review of applications and works in all media will be considered.

The exhibition area has approximately 100 linear feet of wall space. Our historical lobby also offers approximately 630 square feet for 3D work. 

Artist should live within a reasonable driving distance to facility to deliver and pick-up artwork, as CPD does not handle shipping or any costs related to delivery/pick-up. Artist is responsible for any insurance while artwork is being transported to/from the Springer Cultural Center and throughout the exhibition. Artist is responsible for having artwork ready to hang. Exhibits are open and free to the public.

We do not review artwork on a “walk-in” basis. Springer Cultural Center will contact artists who have been selected for exhibition, and will send a letter or email to those who are not selected. Those not selected will remain on file and artists may re-submit once each year. Only complete proposal packages will be reviewed.
