Parenting Through Anything (PTA) magazine seeks submissions to issue #4, "Wounds"

PTA: Parenting Through Anything is an independently published magazine that amplifies the voices of caregivers. PTA acknowledges that mothering and caregiving come in many forms, including caring for gardens and plants, animals (feral and domesticated), elders, friends, and neighbors. PTA recognizes the unprecedented headwinds that caregivers face and seeks contributions that amplify these challenges. If your work sheds light on the difficulties that you encounter as a caregiver and/or shares how you cope while parenting through anything, this is the platform for you! Established and designed by artist-designer-educator Chloe Irla, PTA is seeking contributions for its fourth issue to be released in early 2027. Issue #4 will focus on the concept of wounds. “Wounds” may be understood as injury, rupture, absence, strain, inheritance, or a site of healing. Interpretations that are literal, metaphorical, personal, relational, or environmental are welcome.

Contributions can include: essays; photography; digital images of paintings, sculpture, or other 2D/3D artworks; comics; illustration; graphic design work; maps; data visualization; coloring book pages; poetry; playlists; reading lists; recipes; documentation of gardens, architecture, or other environmental designs; collage; and any other media that can be printed (no video or sound work at this time, unless you’d like to share a URL and still images of that work).

The deadline for submissions is July 1, 2026. Contributors will be notified of the next steps by August 15, 2026. Participants will each receive a copy of PTA and will be given credit for their contributions.
