Proposal Guidelines for the Fried Fruit Art Space 2027 Exhibition Cycle
Deadline for Submission – June 26th, 2026
Fried Fruit Art Gallery is now accepting proposals for solo or two-person shows in our cargo container gallery for the 2027 exhibition cycle. We are located in the Cargo District of Wilmington, NC. Our Instagram is @friedfruitartgallery.
Gallery Description:
In just a few years, the Fried Fruit Art Gallery has hosted over three dozen artists in our cargo gallery space in downtown Wilmington. A blank room to make completely your own, the gallery aims to let artists transform the small space into a meaningful visual experience.
Located in a thriving modern cargo community, we are given a unique perspective into the ever-growing art scene in Wilmington. Fried Fruit Art Gallery takes great care to present well-thought-out exhibition ideas that cultivate conversation. We welcome a variety of exhibition ideas to the gallery to highlight the wide range of artistic media.
Submission Details:
You’ll be asked to submit the following:
· Brief artist statement.
· 2 - 5 Images of your proposed works. (If work is yet to be made, then provide past work samples along with sketches, renderings, or blueprints of the proposed work).
· Exhibition Proposal: Share your vision for the exhibition in a brief description (250 - 500 words)
· Your CV or Resume
Email Madison Creech at friedfruitart@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Artist Information:
Artists are responsible for shipping/delivering work to and from the gallery. There is a possibility to receive a $500 stipend for an artist talk or workshop at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in conjunction with the exhibition.
Please note interest in your application materials. Although we accept all types of work, we prioritize installation, experimental works, and/or community-engaged works.
While current UNCW students are not allowed to apply, two available slots are reserved for graduating seniors to exhibit; they will be selected by the faculty of the Arts and Art History Department.
Exhibition Hours:
Each exhibition will be up for approximately one month and will include an opening reception where patrons are invited inside the gallery. After opening, the exhibition can be viewed 24/7 through the gallery’s glass windows (remains lit at night) and may be visited inside by appointment only.
